Weather Station with Ethernet Interface
Novák, Pavel ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Bartoš, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design and construction of the meteorological station. The meteorological station is designed and constructed to be able to measure the basic meteorological parameters (temperature, humidity, air pressure) and the other three variables (measuring rainfall, wind speed, wind direction). This thesis will introduce you to meteorology. Meteorology determines the daily weather forecast and the results are used for examples in aviation or maritime affairs. The method of atmospheric origin is given in the theoretical part. Meteorology must use measuring instruments to determine quantities. The dissertation also includes analysis of the measuring instruments. The meteorological station uses the Ethernet technology. In the chapter devoted to Ethernet are described its principles, types and method of power supply over Ethernet. The following section describes the design of the entire meteorological station, selection of all components and description of their connection. The chapter about implementation contains a description of the parts which forms program part of the meteorological station. The aim of the thesis is a summary of the achieved results including price comparison of the renovated meteorological station with other meteorological stations, which can be normally bought.
Measuring of winter precipitation and derivation of precipitation time series using snow water equivalent at selected stations in the Sumava Mts.
Valešová, Petra ; Jeníček, Michal (advisor) ; Míka, Dominik (referee)
The measurement of winter precipitation is an important part of many scientific fields, but the same time there are many uncertainties in the measurement that can arise from inaccuracy or poor calibration of sensors, rain gauges and the influence of environmental factors. Measurement inaccuracies can be caused by the influence of wind, evaporation from heated rain gauges or clogging of the rain gauge. The aim of this work is to process data measured by a heated tipping bucket rain gauge, a classical rain gauge and snow water equivalent sensors from selected stations in the Sumava Mountains. These measured data are subsequently processed and, in case of failures, supplemented with data from other stations according to the given principles. Cumulative precipitation series for the hydrological years 2016 to 2022 are then compiled from the data thus supplemented. Key words: precipitation, snow water equivalent, snow depth, measuring of precipitation
Research methods of precipitation spatial and temporal distribution, their using and results in the Czech Republic
JINDROVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor thesis has the character of a literature research, deals with the topic of temporal and spatial distribution of precipitation and methods of their evaluation. It begins with a description of the formation of precipitation and their division. The next chapter is devoted to the factors that affect the distribution of precipitation and the course of precipitation. Following with a description of ground and distance methods of measuring precipitation. This thesis also deals with the analysis of time series and description of methods of spatial distribution of precipitation. With the help of expert articles and studies from the Czech Republic, several examples of different precipitation distributions are presented. At conclusion of this thesis is a comparison of the results of different methods.
Precipitation amount differences between fixed and sliding time windows
Razím, Matyáš ; Müller, Miloslav (advisor) ; Pokorná, Lucie (referee)
Title of Thesis: Precipitation amount differences between fixed and sliding time windows Author: Matyáš Razím Supervisor: RNDr. Miloslav Müller, Ph.D. Abstract This thesis introduces the issue of differences between precipitation totals measured within fixed and sliding periods (further as fixed and sliding totals). Because of several reasons, the precipitation is being measured in given intervals, in practice. Values obtained in this manner, however, are mostly lower than if the measuring period of the same length is set to include as much precipitation as possible. This is because the sliding total is split in two fixed totals. Therefore, values of certain precipitation characteristics, essential for the evaluation of potential hazards and their impact on the society, are often underestimated. So, the thesis presents a research of the precipitation measurement methods, as well as the previous explorations of the given matter and the influences determining the average magnitude of the fixed vs. sliding totals difference. This difference is expressed via the so called Hershfield factor, a coefficient used for conversion of sets of fixed totals to sliding totals. Its general value is most commonly determined as 1.13. It, however, varies according to the precipitation length, climate and several other...

Methods of evaluating the seasonal distribution of rainfall and differences in this distribution within a limited area
MÁCHA, Vít
This bachelor thesis is writen as a literature retrieval concerning the temporal distribution of rainfall within a small areas. The formation and classification of rainfall is described, as well as the methods of measurement and the typical course of rainfall in a different time periods. Furthermore, the work deals with the describtion of possible methods for the evaluation of the temporal distribution, especially the statistical methods. Methods inquire into the comparison of rainfall among the raingauge stations and the distribution of rainfall during the time period. Another possible utilization of time sequences of the precipitation amounts is also described in this thesis, namely for the forcast of probable time of repetition of some extreme situations. The methods for the evaluation of trends in time sequence are also described. The final part is devoted to the variety in rainfall distribution during a different time periods (day, month, year) on a relatively small areas.

BEZDĚKA, Vladimír
The thesis consists of 95 pages and 41 pages of enclosure. Pictures, charts and colour graphs are included. The thesis and the enclosure contain data presented in charts and from the charts graphs have been made. Also, internal material provided by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, České Budějovice 7, Antala Staška 1177/32 is incorporated, as well as data from two amateur weather-stations situated in České Budějovice and Hluboká nad Vltavou. The objective of this work is to explain and describe measuring apparatus and methods used in meteorology. The work also compares results gained from a professional weather-station with those from an amateur one.
